ECO STEP DIM® MOTION – FOR AN APPROPRIATE LIGHTING LEVEL
Less light pollution, less energy consumption, less impact on the environment - Eco Step Dim® Motion, the radio-based solution for presence-dependent lighting control, is now also available for WE-EF bollard and path luminaires.
When installing bollard and pathway luminaires, the question arises as to whether the luminaires always need to shine with uniform brightness in order to illuminate public parks, paths, squares and terraces or private gardens, driveways and house forecourts? Not really. But when someone uses these paths, they should feel safe and be able to see well.
Eco Step Dim® Motion uses PIR sensors (passive infrared) to detect movement data. If a presence is detected, the light level increases from a programmed, reduced lighting level to a predefined level, e.g. 100%. This setting is maintained for a defined period of time and as long as people are moving in this area. If presence is no longer detected at a location, the luminaires are automatically dimmed. In this way, optimum visual conditions for users can be combined with the greatest possible protection of the environment.
The technology for this is housed in a compact box that is protected against vandalism in the bollard housing. Depending on the usage scenario, the luminaires can either operate independently of their neighbors as stand-alone versions, each with its own motion detector, or they can be networked together as a group. The slave version offers a cost-effective solution: only the first and last luminaires in a row are fitted with a motion detector.
