The Wall Project MAVC

Hand glazed stoneware 3D tiles. The Wall Project MAVC comes from the need of experimenting ideas of colour, texture and pattern, using simple geometrical shapes in the tradition of Portuguese monochromatic tiles. Maria Ana Vasco Costa, the author of the project, is interested in the possibilities of the finished ceramic body - namely in what concerns colour, depth, temperature, variation and sound - when set in the architectural scale. By designing different shapes in between them, as a puzzle, infinite possibilities on pattern making are achieved - bespoke projects. The tiles are mostly handmade, respecting the traditional techniques of handmade tile making in Portugal.
