Brachot-Hermant is launching an exciting and very exclusive product at Architect@Work this year, from the fossil stratum at the Kilkenny Limestone quarries In Ireland. These Irish Bluestone quarries are also part of the Brachot-Hermant Group. The Fossil Stone category within the Kilkenny Limestone range is unique thanks to the presence and size of all its oyster and coral fossils. The material is extracted exclusively from the Carlow and Kilkenny quarries in Ireland. For the Fossil Stone category, we select the natural stone blocks very carefully from the rare stratum in the quarries that contains such an exceptional quantity of fossils. The fossil imprints were created hundreds of millions of years ago. Besides extracting and selecting the right natural stone blocks, the sawing and processing of the slabs is also done with the utmost of precision and expertise, so that only the most beautiful examples in the unique Fossil Stone category are offered to our customers. Within the Fossil Stone category, we distinguish between Fossil and Coral. The Fossil-range contains large, white fossils of oysters and shells in the limestone. The Coral series are characterised by the large, fossilized coral patterns on the surface.
