On 12, 13 and 20 March, the Order of Architects - Flemish Council (Vlaamse Raad van de Orde van Architecten) and Network of Architects Flanders (Netwerk Architecten Vlaanderen) organised the third edition of Start to Architect, the annual inspiration and information event for final-year architecture students and first-year trainee architects. More than 220 participants showed up, spread over four sessions in Ghent, Hasselt and Brussels.

Like during the past two editions, the programme was diverse and well-filled. The programme opened with a(n) (optional) tour of each of the three locations: de Krook and Wintercircus in Ghent, the Old Prison in Hasselt and Gare Maritime in Brussels. All facets of the internship were then discussed during four interactive workshops. These were moderated by experts from the Order of Architects - Flemish Council and Network of Architects Flanders.

The participants were divided into small groups. They were given information on topics such as searching for and finding an internship, pay and status, internships abroad, the course of the internship and what the internship entails, follow-up and evaluation and future opportunities after the internship. Each session ended with a networking reception.

The Order of Architects - Flemish Council and Network of Architects Flanders look back on the event with great satisfaction. The participants' reactions were also positive. The Order of Architects - Flemish Council and Network of Architects Flanders were also particularly pleased with the support they received from educational institutions, student clubs and partners.
