Bog oak, also known as black oak or morta, is one of the most exclusive materials in the world. It is estimated to be rarer than diamonds. Over thousands of years, chemical processes taking place in submerged logs change their color to black. As one of very few companies in the world, we are able to, with our proprietary technology, dry bog oak within a few weeks, so no seasoning is needed. As a result, we obtain material perfect for the production of flooring, furniture and accessories which have strength and water resistance comparable to those of the most exclusive species of tropical wood. We are supposedly the only company in the world that offers bog oak flooring up to 35 cm wide. All bog oak logs used in our production are radiocarbon-dated, so we can say with certainty that we only work with material that is over four thousand years old and is considered to be partially petrified. Our current record is a 6250-year-old log sourced from a lake in eastern Poland.
